Since starting this blog last month, my office has received daily deliveries from anxious beauty brand owners hoping for a product review. While I'm happy to try anything (at least once), I now have loads of samples to sort and survey. Included in the wares awaitng review are everything to wow a beauty guru from head to toe. Yet as the products pile up around me, I'm a total sucker for great packaging! So when I came accross an article on The Bubble Roome in Liquid Treat, I just had to place an order. After a decade of designing websites, David E. Johnston took the plunge into the world of handmade bath products. In his Brooklyn kitchen, The Bubble Roome, he’s created a distinctive lineup of bath and body treats. Not only are all of the products made of all natural ingredients, they also look damn good on the bathroom shelf. Turn-of-the-century apothecaries inspired the pretty packaging which David designs himself.
After finishing up the batch of goodies, I just had to dish. I ordered the Brown Sugar Scrub, $12 in Tangerine and Lemongrass, Salt & Clay Scrub in Calming : Chamomile, Bergamot, Clary Sage, Lavender and the Bubble Bath in Sparkle: an energizing & refreshing blend that can help revive your mind and body and get them ready for the day with Sweet Orange, Ginger & Peppermint Essential Oils.
The Brown Sugar Scrub was a little dry, similar to moist brown sugar. After a couple of uses, it became pretty hard to get out of the jar. Even though I tend to prefer sugar scrubs with a tab bit more slip, the scent was nice and uplifting. The Salt & Clay Scrub was my favorite of the bunch. Made with Avocado, Olive & Sweet Almond oils (containing vitamins A, B1, B2, B5, D & E)and mixed with Kaolin Clay, Jojoba beads and mineral-rich Dead Sea salts to provide gentle exfoliation in a slightly lathering, detoxifying cleanser. This is one you won't want to miss! The Bubble Bath was pleasant, but it didn't provide many bubbles.
Don’t miss the Brooklyn Slices, soaps infused with local-inspired scents of Brooklyn. Carroll Gardens includes a blend of floral scents: Rose, Gardenia and Jasmine, Altantic Avenue includes Frankincense, Myrrh, Cloves and Sandalwood and and Coney Island- my personal favorite includes a blend of Cotton Candy, Wafflecones, Cocoa Butter and Marshmallows- yum!
